WHAT IS PARENTS WITH A PLAN?

A question universally on the minds of parents of children with autism and IDD is, “How will my child be cared for when I am no longer able?” Parents With A Plan is working hard to provide a solution.

Fulfilling A Need

Our goal is to develop a model community for adults with autism and other related developmental disorders. Across the United States, 500,000 individuals with autism are aging into adulthood. Today, children have a 1 in 59 chance of being diagnosed with autism. According to the CDC, the rate in New Jersey is 1 in 34. Parents With A Plan is currently evaluating & providing thought leadership addressing how we can address the housing & lifespan needs of this under-served population.

We are a 501(c)(3) organization composed of parents, families, legal and housing professionals with an interest in developing private best practices solutions for special needs young adults. We will do this by creating a place for these individuals to call "home". We believe each individual deserves a high quality of life and there is a need for developing plans for supportive housing that foster person-centered living environments.

Our group is dedicated to maintaining this quality of life by putting like-minded, professional industry leaders together to create solutions to the ever-growing "post 21" neuro-diverse housing shortage.

Our goal is to create best in class supportive communities for adults of varying abilities through private capital. This will allow us to develop housing commensurate with the quality of life deserved, layered with community-based employment and services.

We are building better at Parents With A Plan by connecting currently disparate elements that comprise a full, robust life.

The need for housing and supports is widespread and will require many approaches to solve the challenges ahead. The neurodiverse world is as complex as the neurotypical and we will focus on a segment that needs support.
